Anna Harrison and Carla Gillis

“Anna Harrison is a visual artist living in Bristol, U.K. She has an MFA from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Anna is interested in recently outmoded technological devices which become obsolete, accumulate in the cultural wreckage of our past, and appear in other forms as ‘retro’ objects. Salvaging these devices from disposal or redundancy, too recent to be of interest to the museum, she explores creative, new fictional possibilities. Anna uses drawing, photography and installation in her art practice, invoking images and objects with a retrospective strangeness, pathos and humour.”

“Carla Gillis is a writer and musician living in Vancouver, B.C. Her writing has appeared in newspapers and literary journals, and on CBC Radio‚Äôs Definitely Not the Opera. Her songs tend to find rotation on Canadian college radio. Currently, she is completing her M.F.A. in creative writing at the University of British Columbia. She performs with her sister in Bontempi and Bells Clanging, and her solo music can be found on her MySpace page.”
